GETTING THE NEWS

Once Alexa has been fully checked into the hospital and confirmed to be in labor, you'll receive a text message from Cory letting you know.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATIONS

We obviously don't know how long or strenuous Alexa's labor will be so be sure that you do not make your way to Rhode Island too early. The hospital does not have a waiting room or allow guests to wait at the hospital for long periods of time. Casa de Crew will not be an option, so if you feel you may need accommodations, a list of hotels is available below. We may be in the hospital for close to two days so it's probably best to just wait until you hear from us and travel directly to the hospital once you do. Though it's probably not necessary, a comprehensive list of hotels in the area is available below.

MEETING THE BABY

Following the birth of Baby Crew, Alexa will be moved from a delivery room to a recovery room. This is where she will stay for what is likely to be the next 36 to 48 hours. Once we have the all clear for guests from the medical team and Alexa feels up to it, Cory will reach out to let you know you're good to come to the hospital to meet the baby. Please make sure you're up to date on all recommended vaccines well in advance of meeting the baby.  If you are, or suspect you might be, getting sick, please do not come to the hospital. We know this might be difficult but waiting until you feel better is the best thing you can do for Baby Crew and all the new babies and mothers in the hospital.

HOSPITAL VISITATION RULES

Only two guests will be allowed into Alexa's recovery room at any given time. These are hospital set rules. Once you've arrived at the hospital, secured parking, and checked in at the security desk, call Cory who will come down to meet you in the lobby.

HEADING HOME

Cory, Alexa, and Baby Crew will be checking out of the hospital and heading home as a family. To give Alexa time to recover and for all of us to bond as a new family, after leaving the hospital we won't be having visitors for the first two weeks at home. (Cory said three weeks, so be happy Alexa's in charge.) These first few weeks together just the three of us is deeply important to us as a family and we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. We know how excited you all are to spend time with and get to know Baby Crew and we look forward to that time together.

VISTING THE BABY

Once Cory, Alexa, Baby Crew, and Ripley, of course, have had those two weeks to get to know each other, we're happy to have guests and visitors. Some basic points below.

• Do not kiss the baby, however badly you might want to.

• Wash your hands before holding the baby.

• Just like the hospital, ensure you're up to date on the required vaccinations.

• If you're stick, stay home. There will be plenty of time in future to spend with the baby.

• Bring food. We'll be exhausted so any generosity you're willing to bring will be greatly appreciated.

• Baby Crew will be brand new, and we'll be exhausted, so remember that visits might be short.
